The CentreТs creation was due to the need to organize joint personnel and scientific support for the processes of integration of higher schools and other scientific organizations from the European North of Russia and Nordic countries in the field of training and retraining highly qualified personnel in the European North economy, as well as in promoting joint research in northern territories.
The Centre is expected to promote establishing international contacts and co-operation in the field of distance learning, creation of distance courses and educational programs.
THE CENTREТS GOALS:
Accumulation of knowledge on economics in the North of Europe, as well as its introduction into research and educational programs and projects;
Organization of an active integrated system of information exchange while creating projects, as well as joint work of universities, institutes, academies and other research organizations from Nordic countries and the North-West of Russia;
Creation of conditions to organize training and retraining of specialists in the field of economics;
Organization of an international Centre of distance learning in the field of economics, organization of the training and retraining of economic personnel.
THE CENTREТS OBJECTIVES:
Co-ordination of the training-educational and scientific activities in the field of economics;
Assimilation and integration of the international experience in the training and retraining of specialists Ц economists;
Exchange of experience and refresher and advanced courses for the teaching staff in economics;
Organization of schools Ц seminars on distance learning.

The Centre is developing extensive scientific relations with higher schools and research institutions from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, as well as with foreign partners from Nordic countries, in the first place.
