The Centre is working to create conditions to organize the engineering and scientific personnel training and retraining in the field of state-of-the-art technologies of natural and sewage water treatment in Nordic countries and the European North of Russia.
THE CENTRE’S GOALS:
Co-ordination and organization of an international center, establishing educational, scientific amd productive relations in the field of environmental methods, provision of high-quality drinking water for the population, organization of the training and retraining of engineering staff in management, business and education;
Organization and realization of the personnel training and retraining in the field of water supply, drainage and sewage water treatment;
Co-ordination and rendering qualified assistance in the implementation of research projects and co-operation in the North of Europe’
Integration of educational, scientific and productive institutions and enterprises through creating the departments’ branches,
THE CENTRE’S OBJECTIVES:
Promotion of the work of the existing structural subdivisions of the Civil Engineering Faculty of PetrSU;
Foundation of the constantly working Summer School at the Centre, in co-operation with the technical University of Trondheim (Norway), which would contribute to open exchange of experience in the introduction and development of up-to-date technologies in the scientific and educational sphere;
Rendering assistance to temporary working teams in preparing and publishing innovative manuals “Membrane methods of natural and sewage water treatment”, “X-ray methods of the north high-colour water treatment”;
Establishing close contacts with higher schools and research institutions from Nordic countries, inviting lecturers from these countries to deliver courses of study at the Civil Engineering Faculty of PetrSU;
The use, for educational purposes, of the production and scientific potentialities of the specialists in the field of water treatment and drainage on the basis of the Water Supply department of PetrSU in the municipal unitary enterprise “Vodokanal”(in the town of Petrozavodsk), in order to exchange experience in up-to-date technology introduction and development;
Creation and organization of distance learning courses on methods of natural and sewage water treatment, considering specific natural and climatic conditions of Nordic countries and the European North of Russia;
Creation and organization of distance learning courses by the NEOU specialists in the field of novel technologies for drinking and production water treatment, using the experience and achievements of Nordic countries;
Establishing scientific contacts with higher schools of Norway (Trondheim Technical University) and Finland (Oulu Polytechnic University), inviting lecturers from Nordic countries to deliver courses of study at the Civil Engineering Faculty of PetrSU.
THE CENTRE’S PARTNERS:
The Centre is developing extensive scientific relations with higher schools and research institutions of Russia, as well as with foreign partners, from Nordic countries, in the first place.
